National Park #Free Entrance Day – June 14, 2026

I n 2026, the National Park Service is waiving entrance fees eight times. All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). The first two have already passed. The next will be on June 14 in celebration of Flag Day. The remaining dates are listed below. For more information visit https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/fee-free-parks.htm   July 3–5:  Independence Day weekend August 25:  110th Birthday of the National Park Service September 17:  Constitution Day October 27 : Theodore Roosevelt's birthday November 11:  Veterans Day   *Beginning in 2026, free entrance on these days will be for US citizens and residents only. Nonresidents will pay the regular entrance fee and any applicable nonresident fees.

#Free Series Prequel Micro-Read

This free download was released prior to the fourth installment in the Risky Research Series, A Measure of Madness. For those who have been reading the Risky Research Series, it is the story of how Agent Devyn Nash and Sheriff Gage Harris first met while investigating a counterfeiting operation. In 2026, the National Park Service is waiving entrance fees eight times. All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). The first was February 16. The next will be on May 25 for Memorial Day. The remaining dates are listed below. As a prelude to the release of the fourth installment in the Risky Research Series on April 9, 2021, and as a gift to friends and followers, I have released another free prequel micro-read, Midnight in Montana . In this short story, FBI agent Devyn Nash is committed to tracking down those who are producing counterfeit currency and distributing it across western states. With help from her partner, colleagues, and a handsome Wyoming sheriff she identifies suspects and a source of distribution. When she tries to execute the warrant a real western shoot out erupts, and she must resort to drastic measures to bring them to justices. This is the second free short story I’ve released to compliment the series. The first, A Formidable Foe, goes way back to Devyn’s collage years and Midnight in Montana is the story of Devyn and Gage’s first meeting. Sunday, November 10, 2019 is the last entrance-fee-free-day in 2019 for our National Parks in honor of Veteran's Day . Many of the western resource parks may be closed or have limited services this late in the year, so if you’re heading to one of these, check with park before heading out. Bandelier National Monument Saturday, September 28, 2019 is the next to last entrance-fee-free-day in 2019 for our National Parks in recognition of National Public Lands Day, which was e stablished in 1994 and held annually on the fourth Saturday in September. National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort, and its purpose is to celebrate the connection between people and green space in their community, inspire environmental stewardship, and encourages use of open space for education, recreation, and general health. So, mark your calendar and get out and visit your parks and volunteer.
