I haven’t decided how much decorating I’ll do this year, but I better decide soon.    WRITING The fifth and final novel in The Beartooth Chronicles, Winter Resurgence , was released on November 24, 2025. I am so excited about this novel, but sad the series is ending (unless Hollywood comes calling-ha, ha). Winter is in full swing. The days are short, the temperatures are chilly, and we’ve already seen plenty of snow. I always look forward to the winter solstice, which falls on December 21 this year. It will be the shortest day of the year, but after that, the amount of daylight increases ever so slightly from there on out. It kind of feels like we’re over the hump on the solstice even though it is technically the first day of winter. The holiday season has not started out well, but I anticipate the month ending on a very happy note. I’ve always been relieved once we’re into the new year and the holidays are behind me, but I try to stay upbeat for those who are all in when it comes to the festivities. Whether your celebrations are tepid or over the top, I hope you’re finding joy in the holiday season. There’s a lot happening in December. Pearl Harbor Day is the 7 th , the Winter Solstice falls on December 21 this year, and of course, we have Christmas on December 25 th .   I’m always happy when the Winter Solstice is behind me. It is the shortest day of the year, so every day thereafter is getting just a little bit longer. But to most, December is all about Christmas. However you choose to celebrate, I hope your holiday brings you peace and joy.
