Adventure Scrapbook – Serene Adventure In Southern Florida

Sometimes adventure can be experienced by simply taking the time to enjoy a place, like fishing on a dock in southern Florida as the sun slowly sinks below the horizon. When I think of all the amazing and exciting places I’ve been and the things I’ve done, one of my fondest memories is still of this peaceful evening on a hot, humid night in Florida.

Northern Lights

I am pleased to introduce Sharon McGregor. Sharon is a Canadian author who has recently transplanted to the west coast. She has written humor, romance and mystery for magazines such as Sasee, Long and Short Romance, Great Mystery and Suspense Magazine and Horizon as well as stories for the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. When not fighting with her cat Zoey for control of the computer keyboard, she is working at her ice cream shop or her bath and body shop.
Here’s a look at Sharon’s recent release, Northern Lights.
Maddie Smart is at a crossroads. Her job and her relationship have both suddenly ended. On the advice of a friend she flies to a northern fishing lodge to recoup and plan her next move. Here she meets fishermen who don't fish, a policeman who does, a man who says he's seen Sasquatch and a lodge owner who sets her pulses racing.
She finds herself running headlong into danger with no idea of who she can trust. Her feelings for Lodge owner Rupert are clouded by his hot and cold moods, and her growing suspicions of his right hand man's involvement in a bear part harvesting ring. Maddie must face her deepest fear before she can find answers. She also must learn to trust again before she can find her own happy ending.

Adventure Scrapbook – Thai Market

I’ve always loved spicy food, which initiated my infatuation with Thailand. Its cuisine is not only spicy, but flavorful in a way that allows the palate to taste each element of a dish, from basil, kafir lime, galangal root, ginger to the coconut milk used as a base for curries.  So, when I found the chili section in a Thai market, I thought I had at last found paradise.

Destined For Deception

Exciting new novella, Destined For Deception, by Sandra Tilley and Suzanne Purvis has recently been release by Prism Book Group. Here’s a peek at this fun and entertaining Contemporary Romantic Suspense, available for just $0.99. At this price you can’t go wrong.

Beneath the emerald waves, churn deception, corruption, and murder.

Forensic accountant Drew Arnoud could be on vacation. Instead, he’s investigating misappropriation of BP’s oil spill settlement funds in the beachside town of Destin, Florida. Having his kayak tipped by head hunting specialist Bree Finley could be a coincidence, or could she be involved? Either way he’s keeping her close, maybe too close. In his search to reveal the truth, he finds his life and his heart in jeopardy.

Bree Finley has been betrayed before by her ex-husband, but is it possible he’s involved her and their company in criminal activities and fraud? Who can she trust? She must decide, but the wrong decision may prove deadly.

About The Authors
Suzanne Purvis writes fiction of the long, short and flash variety for both adults and children, usually with a touch of humor. She’s garnered a few awards and finds inspiration in the sometimes forgotten coast of the Florida Panhandle, where she lives with her husband in a home overflowing with teenagers and dogs.
In 2001, Sandra Tilley said good-bye to Birmingham, Alabama, and hello to beautiful Pensacola, Florida where she traded grading essays to writing fiction. Now, on any given day, you might find Sandra’s beach chair dug into the sugary white sand, enjoying the sparkling blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and plotting her next novel.

Taste Of Pain

MFRW Authors Blog
Welcome to this week’s Book Hooks blog hop where you can hop along and get six to eight sentence samples of various authors’ work. Here’s  a little teaser from my latest novel, Shrouded In Secrets.

Olivia eased the shirt over his head and dabbed at the scratches on his chest with a warm washcloth. Not until her fingers began tracing some of the deeper wounds, trying to determine if any debris still remained imbedded that might cause infection, did Cash acknowledge her close proximity.  He reached up, grabbed her hand, and brought it to his lips.

He kissed her palm so gently that Olivia could taste his pain. Tears filled her eyes and slid down her cheeks. She wasn’t sure why his agony touched her so deeply, but it did. “I’m sorry,” was all she could think of to say, knowing it wasn’t enough.

The massacre of an unarmed South American village, destruction of one of the greatest manmade wonders of the world, and multiple museum thefts ignite a desperate scramble to locate a deadly group of terrorists. An international team led by the ruggedly handsome, but emotionally scarred CIA agent, Cash Luker, scours the globe in an attempt to keep ahead of those striving to bring thirteen mythical relics together. As Cash’s team closes in on those responsible for the devastation he must conquer past demons in order to save the woman who has captured his heart and prevent destruction of legendary proportions.

Adventure Scrapbook – Ecuadorian Market

One of the best ways to learn about local culture is to visit an area’s market. If it’s a market serving primarily the residents of a community, wandering through the vendor wares allows visitors to get a glimpse at the local cuisine, dress, and interactions with each other and outsiders.  When visiting a new country, if given the opportunity to check out the market, don’t pass up the experience.

A Dystopian Deadly Exodus

MFRW Authors Blog

Welcome to this week’s Book Hooks blog hop. Here’s a little teaser from my dystopian adventure romance novel, Deadly Exodus (Desperate Dreams), which is still available for your kindle from Amazon for just $0.99. Enjoy!

Ethan tried to shine his light in their eyes, but this time the wolves kept their eyes diverted and began circling the group.
“Huddle up, backs together,” Ethan whispered.

The wolves paced slowly and methodically, moving in closer with each circuit around the group, spacing themselves so the potential meal was sandwiched between them.

“Claire and Jared, stay focused on the animal closest to you no matter what you hear from us. Nyla and I will concentrate on this one. If we lose our focus on one, it will expose our flank. That’s probably their plan—one strikes and the other attacks from behind when everyone’s attention is diverted.”

The moment the words were out, a wolf lunged at Claire, hitting her shoulder...

Their love is forbidden…their lives in danger…

Trapped in a dystopian America where men are being exterminated and relationships are forbidden, Nyla is determined to change the course of her future and protect Ethan. Fleeing means abandoning her grandmother and imprisoned mother, but Nyla and her friends will do anything to escape an authoritarian government which has stolen their freedom and prohibits personal expression of any kind.

Desperate and dreaming of a new life, the group makes a run for the Mexican border through the inhospitable Big Bend region of Texas. Persistent patrols track and corner them, while a vast and desolate landscape inhabited by brazen predators tests their ability to survive.

Will they live to realize their dreams of a new life and a chance at love?
