Sneak Peek Sunday - Desperate Dreams

Sneak Peek Sunday is a blog hop that allows readers to sample six paragraphs of an author’s novel. The paragraphs below come from Desperate Dreams , a futuristic romantic adventure through the inhospitable Big Bend region of Texas. Blood pooled in Nyla’s stinging palm and slid down her wrist. She was afraid the sight might make her sick to her stomach, so she refused the temptation to take her eyes off Ethan. She focused on the sharp chiseled features of his face. Some might have thought the slight upward tilt of his chin looked arrogant, but to her the angle made him look confident and strong and right now, she needed his strength. Ethan tried to offer comfort, but all Nyla could see in his weak smile and his coal-colored eyes were the depth of the pain he was feeling on her behalf. She hated to see him suffer on her account, but his caring touched her heart. “Come on man. It can’t be that hard to find,” Ethan demanded as he wiped the blood gliding down Nyla’s arm before it re

Free Book Promotion Sites

There are hundreds of places on the internet that offer free book promotion and I wanted to give a shout out to a couple because they have designed their sites to be a very helpful source for readers looking for free or cheap ebooks. Check out http://feedyourreader.com where they list books daily in order from free up to $3.99, including books always priced at those rates as well as temporary promotions and reductions. The books are linked back to Amazon if you want to purchase any, but this site helps to narrow down your search. Another great site is http://awesomegang.com where you can see a brief blurb, author bio and the book cover along with links to Amazon and the author’s website. Visit http://awesomegang.com/big-horn-storm-by-kim-mcmahill/ for Big Horn Storm’s page.

Homerun Hits it out of the Park

Tis the season for baseball and I’ve been cheering the local college teams on as much as our weird weather will allow.   So, if you’re like me and enjoy reading with the season, such as Christmas stories during the holidays, make sure to pick up a copy of Homerun by Ruth Roberts and get into the spirit. This novella mixes in baseball, just enough sass and spice and ample drama to create a real winner. I’ll give you a little teaser, but I don’t want to spoil the story. Go to Prism Book Group or Amazon to learn more about Ruth and to get your copy now as baseball is getting into full swing.   When the seemingly-spoiled socialite, Cynthiana, and the professional baseball player, Roberto, team up for a fundraiser, sparks fly and they soon discover the electrical charge isn’t caused by animosity, but by mutual attraction.   What starts out as a simple straight-forward romance soon becomes complex when Cynthiana’s father attempts to dictate the course of her future and destroy Roberto

Sneak Peek Sunday

Sneak Peek Sunday is a blog hop that allows readers to sample six paragraphs of an author’s novel. Check out this sneak peak at Big Horn Storm and then hop along for more sneak peeks at other great books. Have fun! The sound of a man’s voice made Niki’s head whip around as she tried to bring Storm under control. The man was not speaking English and the insignia on his uniform did not belong to the United States military, nor did the uniform sport a maple leaf such as the one she had seen on the helicopter the previous day. Thoughts swirled through her head, making no sense at all, but the one thing she was certain of was that she was in deep trouble. Niki reined Storm around, now surrounded by five more men. Her body went rigid as the horse’s legs suddenly stiffened. Storm snorted at the closest man and then pawed angrily at the ground. The men began advancing, smiling and laughing. Niki couldn’t understand what they were saying, but as she spied two more dead bodies on the

BLOOMING LOVE SPRING BLOG HOP

Image
Welcome to the Blooming Love Spring Blog Hop. I hope you enjoy all the different perspectives on love, find exciting new books, learn about new authors, and of course, take advantage of all the giveaways.    Sometimes love hits hard and fast. Other times love sneaks up and takes hold of your heart before you realize what’s happening, much the same way a bud on a flower’s stem slowly opens to reveal a beautiful spring blossom.   I write romantic adventures and suspense, and they generally follow the blooming love rather than the exploding romance formula (there are plenty of other explosions in my stories).   As the hero and heroine struggle to survive whatever predicament they find themselves in, they inevitable come to rely on each other and reassess how they view themselves and their relationships.   Even in real life, when people face a challenging or terrifying situation together the experience has the potential to tear them apart or bring them together by forging an
