Porto Portugal

Image
Porto, Portugal is a beautiful coastal city located alongside the Douro River in northwest Portugal. It’s the second largest city in the country and world-famous for its port wine production. Its Romanesque cathedral with gothic cloisters, stately bridges, historic city center, and location along the Douro River, make this a city worth exploring.

Celebrating the Summer Solstice 2022

Image
The Summer Solstice is the meteorological start of summer and the longest day of the year. This year the Solstice falls on June 21. The sun does not set at the North Pole on this day, giving it 24 hours of sunlight; however, the amount of daylight only goes down from here. I do love long days and lots of sunlight, but I’m fine with living far south of the North Pole, it is possible to have too much of a good thing. Anyway, happy Solstice and enjoy the daylight.

Proud History of Portugul

Image
Lisbon, Portugal is a city with a proud history and a vibrant culture. The historic district of this hilly coastal capital city has an abundance of statues, parks, cathedrals, stunning architecture, sidewalks constructed of black and white tiles arranged in beautiful patterns, and great cafes and bakeries selling pastis de natas, a delicious Portuguese egg custard tart pastry. My only problem with this city was that my visit was too short, so if you go, be sure to give yourself plenty of time.

June – It Finally Seems Like Summer I’m always anxious for June. Though I have tried to plant my garden in late-May, it’s really a bad idea in this part of Wyoming. So, when the first of June hits, I’m excited to get everything in the ground. I also tried to go camping a couple times in May this year, and it was really pushing the limits. Both times, overnight lows got down to freezing.   We may still have a few cold days, heck, we’ve even gotten snow on the Fourth of July here before, but generally, when June hits it finally seems like summer. Here’s what else is going on this month: June 6 - D Day, WWII June 14 - Flag Day June 19 - Father's Day and Juneteenth Day June 21 - Summer Solstice     FREEBIES Midnight in Montana (Risky Research Series Micro-read prequel ebook):   https://books2read.com/u/mgjR7K A Formidable Foe (Risky Research Series novelette prequel ebook): https://books2read.com/u/b6MGE6   WRITING NOTES AND NEWS I’ve been spending every free
