Latest Review for Big Horn Storm

Here’s the latest review for Big Horn Storm. It made my day.

5 out of 5 Stars. Make It Into a Movie!

There's plenty of action in this romantic adventure story set in the rugged terrain of Wyoming. A handsome hero, a spunky heroine, and a horse named Storm struggle to outwit the bad guys. Once I started this book, I could not stop reading it. I'd love to see it on a movie screen in color.

Enjoy the Adventure!

Giveaway, Great Food, and Guest Blog

Thank you for participating in Prism Book Group’s 3rd Birthday Blog Hop September 20-23. I hope everyone gathered some great recipes and signed up for the exciting giveaways.  Denise Z was selected at random to receive an ebook of Shrouded in Secrets. Congratulations!   Speaking of blogs, I’m a guest today, September 24, on Margery Scott’s blog. Please check it out at  Lastly, as promised here’s a bonus cheesecake recipe, just in time for the fall holiday season.

Crust: Crush 10 whole graham crackers and mix with 3 tablespoons of sugar and 3 tablespoons of butter. Press into a 10 inch cheesecake spring pan (bottom and 2 inches up the sides). Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove.

Filling: Beat together until smooth, 2 (8-oz) packages of cream cheese (works best if softened), 1 cup of light cream, 1 cup of canned pumpkin, ¾ cup of sugar, 4 egg yolks (save whites in a separate bowl), 3 tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon each of ginger, nutmeg, and salt. Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into the pumpkin mixture. Pour over prepared crust and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Baking times vary, so make sure the center is set. I’ve found it often takes longer than the 1 hour noted in the recipe.

Topping: Gently mix 2 cups of sour cream, 4 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until well blended. Spread topping evenly over cheesecake and bake another 5 minutes. Refrigerate and serve cold.

Prism’s Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to Prism Book Group’s 3rd Birthday Blog Hop.  We’ll be celebrating from Friday, September 20 – Monday, September 23 with chances to win great prizes including a $100 gift card to the winner’s choice of Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Here on my blog I’m sharing one of my favorite no-fail recipes, and from all the comments left through Monday, September 23, one randomly selected participant will receive an ebook of my latest action/adventure novel, Shrouded In Secrets (format of recipient’s choice. Must leave an email address to be contacted). So without further ado, let’s have some cake and celebrate!

My love affair with cheesecake probably began from the moment I started eating solid food as a baby and was given my first bite of my grandma’s cheesecake. This was the real thing – hand crushed and pressed graham cracker crust, baked filling, baked sour cream top layer, and absolutely no fruit topping, that would have been sacrilegious. We all loved this delicacy so much that it didn’t matter that it wasn’t your traditional birthday cake it was still the celebratory dessert of choice.

With that said, I’m not posting the recipe. That’s a family secret. But, grandma’s cheesecake launched a lifetime of exploring more creative versions such as Grasshopper, Chocolate, Pumpkin, and Turtle. Here’s a version I make often since it’s practically “no-fail” and I love chocolate anything.

Crust: crush 1 package of graham crackers (I believe there are about 8-10 crackers in each package). Stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar and ¾ cube of melted butter or margarine. Press the mixture into the bottom of a cheesecake pan (these pans have a round flat bottom and a spring loaded band that can be removed after cooking).

Filling: beat 2 (8-oz) packages of cream cheese (works best if softened), ¾ cup of sugar, ¼ cup of baking cocoa, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 2 eggs until smooth.

Bake: Pour filling over the graham cracker crust and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Baking times vary with oven, so make sure the center is set, but not overdone. Refrigerate. I think it’s best to it make the night before needed and refrigerate overnight.

Enjoy! Please leave your comment on my blog for a chance at an ebook of Shrouded in Secrets.  Make sure to enter for a chance at the $100 gift card via the Rafflecopter, and then hop along to the next blog for more wonderful recipes and goodies. Check back next Wednesday for a bonus cheesecake recipe and to see who received a copy of Shrouded In Secrets.

Latest Review for Desperate Dreams

5 out of 5 Stars. McMahill takes you on another suspenseful journey

This book was very mind provoking, especially with all the headlines today about the government agencies accessing public on-line information and how everyone is feeling the need to install security cameras. Kim exposes us to what our future could come to be, while taking us on a dangerous and suspenseful journey of four friends who want nothing more than to be allowed to enjoy life together. My husband enjoyed this book, too.
The only problem with this author is she needs to write more books a little faster. I've now read all her books and need the next one...hurry up.

This fast-paced novel is a complex, intriguing mix of legal thriller, covert investigation, corporate crime, action, personal introspection and discovery, and spiritual revelation. The story weaves its way through plot twists and turns that lead to an unexpected ending. The author has a unique story-telling voice and a talent for creating believable scenes with vivid descriptions, which has resulted in a novel that will leave you thinking long after you finish reading it.

Shrouded In Secrets - Sneak Peak Sunday

Welcome to Sneak Peek Sunday for September 8. Here’s another quick peek at my new release, Shrouded in Secrets. For trivia, reviews, and general information on all my adventure novels, follow me on twitter at I Hope you enjoy the adventure.

Light filled the grotto, temporarily blinding Pete. A thin woman stood, staring at him with haunting green eyes and a confident smirk. Ebony hair pulled back into a tight ponytail, she wore a black thigh-length diving suit that clung to her ample breasts and accentuated the gentle curve of her hips and trim waist. In her hand, she clutched a glistening dagger. But, what kept Pete transfixed were her eyes. The unique and beautiful shade of green didn’t exist in nature. Their almond-shape held ice and evil, and the soulless chill in her stare made him shudder.

Pete detected another figure filling the tunnel behind the woman. The person remained hidden from his view as he continued to contemplate his odds of surviving. He observed her graceful and confident movements with morbid fascination as he visualized his pending death at her slender fingers, making his pulse race. Despite squeaking through all of his CIA training, nothing had prepared him for an encounter with a creature so enchanting and deadly.

The woman said nothing as she snatched a cloth sack from the hand of the hidden person without a backward glance. Her eyes never wavered from Pete’s face, nor did her amused expression change. She quickly transferred the object from the gold box into the bag, pulled the drawstring, and took several steps back. She handed the package to her colleague crouched in the shadows, and finally spoke.

“I’m disappointed. I hoped to have the opportunity to test my new fillet knife on Cash,” she said as she turned the dagger’s hilt in her hand. “Men, should I gut this thin man and feed him to the sharks, as he tried to do with us, or let him live long enough to tell that egotistical traitor how he lost the prize and was beaten by a ghost?”

Silence filled the room. Pete felt powerless to pull his gaze from the green-eyed devil. A sliver of hope trickled through him, mixed with a lot of confusion. She knew Cash. Though Pete heard nothing, the woman responded as if she had received an answer to her question from the person behind her.

“Yes. We might as well kill him. I would rather see the expression on my old friend’s face when our paths eventually cross than to have him forewarned. Heinrich, hold this for me. I doubt I need both hands to kill this pest, but he did give us a reasonable chase for a while.”

Atlantis-Shrouded In Secrets

Bimini is an island of the Bahamas. The island is about 40 miles east of Miami. North Bimini is only 7 miles long, and its main settlement is Alice Town. Some believe the lost city of Atlantis is located in the waters off of Bimini, and it is rumored that the Fountain of Youth is located between North and South Bimini.  In 1968 a half-mile of aligned limestone blocks referred to as the Bimini road were discovered offshore of Paradise Point on North Bimini.

How do these nuggets of trivia figure into the international adventure thriller, Shrouded In Secrets? Find out at
