What's Tuesday without a Teaser?

What’s Tuesday without a teaser to whet your appetite? Just another weekday, so take a minute to enjoy A Taste of Tragedy, the second suspense novel in the Risky Research Series. Morgan woke to pitch black. Not only were her hands and ankles bound, and her mouth taped shut, but she was also cocooned in a thick wool blanket. The bouncing told her she was in a vehicle, but she was clearly no longer in the back of her car. Fear coursed through her veins as she struggled to understand where she was and what had happened. She wanted to take a deep breath to help calm her nerves, but with one nostril filled with dried blood and her mouth taped, it was difficult to breathe at all. Forcing herself not to panic, she sucked in tiny bursts of air through her one open nostril until she was confident she wouldn’t suffocate. She wiggled her toes and fingers to try and get the blood flowing and the tingling to subside. As the fog slowly cleared from her mind, she wondered how long she had b

Memorial Day Roots and Appreciation

Memorial Day was originally known at Decoration Day. The roots of this holiday go back to 1865 and the end of the Civil War. It was traditionally recognized on May 30. In 1882 the name was changed to Memorial Day, and in 1971, Congress change the date to the last Monday in May to provide for a three day holiday weekend. The observance of Memorial Day is dedicated to service men and women who gave their lives for freedom and country. It is also a time to remember loved ones who have passed away. Along with a day of remembrance, it is a time to share with family and friends. Memorial Day also marks the beginning of the gardening and summer seasons, although the official first day of summer is still a few weeks away. This Memorial Day, I’d like to express my personal gratitude to all those who are or who have served and their families.  I hope everyone has a safe and memorable Memorial Day.

Teaser Tuesday and A Taste of Tragedy

It’s Tuesday and that means a teaser is in order, so here’s A Taste of Tragedy , the second novel in the Risky Research Series. Enjoy! “Here, let me help you,” Morgan said as she draped Devyn’s arm around her shoulders. Morgan tried to relieve as much weight as she could from Devyn as she helped her hobble to the waiting vehicle. Once Devyn was seated in the cramped back seat, Morgan dug out her emergency supply bag. She handed Devyn a blanket and a bottle of water. “I have a first aid kit, but I think you need something a little more than a bandage.” “It’s just a few scratches. I’ll live.” Morgan could see why Nick trusted Devyn with his back. As she looked at the battered and bruised woman, who had taken off into the desert in the middle of the night in bare feet to prevent a criminal from getting away, she had to admire her. Devyn had to be in extreme pain, yet not a complaint escaped her lips. “Make room in the back,” Nick huffed. Morgan looked up to see Nick trudging

Calling All Thriller and Adventure Movie Buffs

Seldom will you find me in a movie theater. I’m pretty picky. I like a good comedy, and I love adventure.  But, I’ll pass on any tear-jerker or “feel good” movie, and it takes a special drama to pique my interest.   I’m tired of remakes and movies based on comic books or 1970’s sitcoms. There are so many great adventure novels out there that I’m always stunned by how un-original the movie line up can be. But the movie forecast has me truly excited for the first time in a very long time. On July 29, 2016 Jason Bourne will be released. It’s been an eternity since the last Bourne movie with Matt Damon and I’ve undergone severe withdrawals.  The Bourne series is based on thrillers by American novelist Robert Ludlum. And, the good news continues. Map of Bones by one of my top three favorite authors, James Rollins, is also being made into a movie. I haven’t found a release date, but I’m hoping it’s a huge success. The entire Sigma Force series would make for amazing movies.

Adventure Inspirations – To Experience Nature

“You’ve been so long in the rain, you feel like a dirty dish rag. But despite the misery of your water soaked body, you look around to see verdant leaves dripping with water. The air entering your lungs smells vibrantly clean. To experience adventure, you must be willing to be uncomfortable at times and enjoy the loneliness by being happy with your own singing. A song pops out of your mouth… "It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was fine…”   - Frosty Wooldridge-

Teaser Tuesday - A Tiny Taste of Tragedy

What’s Tuesday without a teaser? Just another Tuesday - so here’s a tiny taste of A Taste of Tragedy . Download this novel for just $0.99 from Amazon for your Kindle here . Enjoy! Nick made his way to the security offices where Devyn said she would be waiting for him. “Just in time,” she stated as he walked through the door. “We have the footage about ready to roll from all the cameras from every elevator and stairwell leaving the third floor. Unless she’s still on the third floor, we’ll find her.” Nick watched over Devyn’s shoulder as feeds came up on multiple screens from different cameras. Since the time frame in question was a small window, they quickly narrowed down the search. “There. Stop it there,” Nick ordered, pointing to the middle screen. “What’s Morgan doing here?” “I couldn’t get in or out of the car or drive on my own with the sore ribs, so she insisted on bringing me to the hospital. She left when the chaos erupted, so she should be home by now.” Nick gla

Adventure Inspirations – Explore, Dream, Discover

Teaser Tuesday - Another Taste of Tragedy

Enjoy another Teaser Tuesday post from A Taste of Tragedy “Are we looking for someone who is trying to steal the products and procedures and eventually introduce them to the market as their own? Or do we think someone wants to keep the products out of production and off the market?” one of the other agents asked. “We’re not sure. Either way, someone is apparently trying to manipulate the forty to one hundred billion dollar-a-year diet product industry in the U.S., which would obviously impact other developed countries around the world as well.” Devyn returned to her chair and took a long gulp of coffee. She scanned the room and could see she had everyone’s attention. Not only had they verified crimes had been committed, rather than just a series of unfortunate accidents, she had given them the link binding the crimes and companies together. “So, all we have to do is find out who wants to make America skinny or keep it fat, and who’s willing to kill for the honor. No problem,
