Hooked on Danger and Forbidden Love

Image
Welcome to this week’s Book Hooks blog hop. I hope you enjoy this eight-sentence teaser from my dystopian adventure romance novel, Deadly Exodus (now only $0.99) . C lick on another great writer in the Linky List below to check out more book hooks . Excerpt :   The sound of boots pounding overhead took Nyla’s breath away. The women left the bridge and scrambled down the bank. Once they reached the creek bed and turned the light under the bridge, it would be all over. Nyla wondered if Ethan and Jared would be executed on the spot or if they would at least be taken back to stand trial. The thought of losing Ethan terrified her. She slipped out from behind him and positioned her body in front of his. He tried to push her back, but she refused to budge. If they were going shoot Ethan, they would have to go through her.   Blurb:   Their love is forbidden…their lives in danger… Trapped in a dystopian America where men are being exterminated and relationships are forbidden

Adventure Scrapbook - Ayuthaya Thailand

Image
Ayuthaya, Thailand served as the Siamese royal capitol and was one of Asia’s greatest, most powerful cities during the 13 th and 14 th centuries. Today, all that remains of this once thriving city of a million people, are fascinating ruins and amazing sculptures. There were very few other visitors when we toured the site, which made the experience all the more awe-inspiring and powerful.

Contemporary Romance - Now And Forever

Image
Contemporary Romance authors, Terri Mann and Kate Lane have recently released their novel, Now and Forever .   Please read on for more on this novel and its authors. Nothing could destroy their love, except the truth… Separated by circumstance and distance, former high school sweethearts Lindy and TJ find their lives and passions once again entwined. For the past twelve years, each lived and worked in separate worlds, but yet held each other close in their hearts, one never sure what the other was feeling. The sudden and cruel death of their dear friend, Jack, brings them back together in Clarkson Grove, where their love had blossomed so many years before. Each is breathless at the thought of reuniting, hoping against hope that they can begin again. Can the love of their youth truly grow into an adult, lasting relationship or are their feelings just bittersweet memories of “the one who got away?” After so much time apart, do they still hold the same, small town values? How will

Adventure Scrapbook – Paradise in the Desert –Big Bend

Image
One of my favorite places in Big Bend National Park is the Hot Springs Historic District. It’s an idyllic spot along the Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River, which was once used as a health spa and as a meeting place for people from both sides of the river. There are several preserved buildings and a magnificent giant palm fanning out over the rugged landscape. I dubbed it the, “tropical paradise in the desert,” in Deadly Exodus and identified it as the place the characters would attempt their daring border/river crossing into Mexico in their desperate run for freedom.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend and has the opportunity to spend time with family and friends enjoying the traditions of this holiday. Be safe, have fun, and thank you for stopping by.

Adventure Scrapbook – Early Mountain Memories

Image
Many of my earliest memories are of riding my pony in the mountains of Wyoming.   It didn’t take long before I graduated to a horse, since it was a little difficult to keep up with the adults, despite my pony’s determination. I doubt I appreciated it at the time, but these early exploits provided some serious quality family bonding, and fueled my life-long sense of adventure.

Adventure Boxed Set Sneak Peek

Image
Welcome to Sneak Peak Sunday for April 6, 2014. Sneak Peek Sunday is a weekly blog hop that allows readers to sample six paragraphs of an author’s novel. This week I may be stretching the rules a bit. A Kindle Boxed Set of three of my novels was recently released, so instead of providing a six-paragraph sneak peek at one novel, I’m sharing two paragraphs from each of the three novels included in the Boxed Set, Marked In Mexico (54 Amazon reviews averaging 4.4), Big Horn Storm (21 Amazon reviews averaging 4.6), and Deadly Exodus (12 Amazon reviews averaging 4.9), along with blurbs. The set is available on Amazon for one low price of just $3.99. Marked In Mexico Under any other circumstance the words, “kill another person,” at the end of a sentence would have terrified her, but the way Jack said it only made her heart ache. He had killed before, but it clearly hadn’t been easy and he obviously hadn’t gotten over it.   Jessica took his hands in hers and turned them o
