December Potpourri

December may lay claim to the biggest holidays of the year, but there are plenty of other important and fun dates to note. Here’s just a few.

Pearl Harbor Day – December 7
Poinsettia day – December 12
Winter Solstice, i.e. the shortest day of the year – December 21
Boxing Day – December – December 26
National Fruitcake Day – December 27

On December 7, 1877 Thomas Edison shows off his new invention, the phonograph; Gone With the Wind premiered in Atlanta Georgia on December 15, 1939; and James Mason invented the coffee percolator on December 26, 1865.

And last but not least, December is Bingo Month and Write a Friend Month.
