JUNE 2026 WRITING AND WANDERING NEWSLETTER

When June hits, it is officially summer for me even though astronomical summer doesn’t officially begin in the Northern Hemisphere until the summer solstice on June 21, 2026. I’ve already planted my garden which is a little earlier than usual. I hope I wasn’t lulled into a false sense of the season, and we get a late freeze (not unheard of almost any time of the year). So, with the garden planted and the yard in ship shape, it’s time to turn our thoughts to camping and summer fun. I hope your summer is starting out with a bang.   

WRITING

Marketing The Beartooth Chronicles is an ongoing activity along with looking for ways to keep my backlist out there. I have a couple of potential opportunities hanging out there, but it’s still a little early to provide many details. Stay tuned for more information to come.

WANDERINGS

In late April and early May my husband and I did some epic wandering. We went to Greece and Türkiye, including spending a few nights in the Cappadocia region in central Türkiye. I loved the history, mythology, archeology, culture, food, and people. The highlight, though, was Cappadocia where we explored underground cities, cave homes and churches, and viewed the stunning landscape dotted with Fairy Chimneys from a hot air balloon. It was a truly amazing adventure.

WHAT I’M READING, NOTABLE NOVELS, and INSPIRING AUTHORS

I’m currently reading, The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown. He doesn’t publish many novels, but the ones he does are epic. The topics aren’t for everyone, but he is a phenomenal writer, and he weaves complex and intriguing plots. I hope this will be as entertaining as the rest of his Robert Langdon novels.

I finished Primordia: In Search of the Lost World by Greig Beck, and I enjoyed it enough to read the rest of the trilogy. It melds prehistoric times with modern day in an exciting science fiction thriller. The books were well written, and I may read more by this author if I ever get caught up on books I’ve already bought.
