JUNE 2024 WRITING AND WANDERINGS #Newsletter

Hello Summer! Some days we’re there, some days we aren’t, but we’re close enough to my favorite season to celebrate. I just planted my garden, and the grapes, raspberries, and strawberries are showing robust signs of life. The lawn and trees are green, and the birds have returned from their wintering grounds. Many roads in my neck of the woods close over the winter, but now that the Beartooth Highway and the roads into Yellowstone are finally open, I feel a sense of freedom.


WRITING NOTES AND NEWS

Refuge from the World (The Beartooth Chronicles, Book 1) was released on March 19. I’ve been busy promoting it, and it’s been so exciting sharing this first book in the series with everyone. Everything is all set for the release of the next novel in the series, Above the Abyss (The Beartooth Chronicles, Book 2). WHAT I’M READING

I’ve had a decent reading month. I finished Gone by Michael Grant. It was a fresh and interesting take on dystopian stories. I read Poster Girl by Veronica Roth. It wasn’t my favorite of her books, but still a good read that got better as it went. It started a little slow, but once everything came together, I thought it was worth the read. I also read The Mermaid Riot by Joy Held since my last newsletter. It was an entertaining mermaid tale, but one thing I especially enjoyed about this book is the power of young love. Despite objections from their parents, the main characters never strayed from each other. I find love stories without the usual drama and lies very refreshing.
