About The Beartooth Chronicles Series

The Beartooth Chronicles follows the story of Ashley McPhee, who arrived in Beartooth with her mom, Sara, when she was three years old, and Caleb Solomon, who arrived about the same time. They have been best friend ever since, but as the story begins, their relationship enters a new phase as they navigate the challenges of adulthood.

The Beartooth Chronicles is a story of survival in a crumbling world, but unlike many dystopian novels, the series is not about fighting against the government. The series focuses on the residents of a small, isolated community who work together to find solutions to each new challenge the community faces. Though insulated from many of the problems threating the survival of humanity, their future is far from secure. They are determined to hold on to what they’ve built and will fight to protect their community and each other from outside threats, both human and animal predators.

Series Blurb:

In a world plagued by natural and human disasters, a small group of individuals secure a struggling mountaintop resort to establish a sustainable community away from a country riddled with violence. The home they’ve created has provided a safe and comfortable existence, but as environmental disasters continue to multiply, bringing out the worst of humanity, the residents of Beartooth are faced with challenges that will test their ability to survive.

Refuge from the World (The Beartooth Chronicles, Book 1)

Ashley McPhee arrived in Beartooth with her mom, Sara, when she was three years old. Ever since Ash can remember, life has been simple and peaceful. She enjoyed a carefree childhood, tending honey bees with her mom and spending time with her best friend, Caleb Solomon. But, life in their idyllic, mountaintop community is changing.

After learning of the government’s plan to use a geoengineering process to cool the planet, Ash and Caleb realize they need to step up and take an active role in the community. Along with fear for how the process might impact their food supply, Ash learns her mom’s health is failing.

Sara doesn’t want Ash to face an uncertain future alone and nudges her and Caleb into marriage. Even though they have known each other most of their lives, Ash and Caleb’s relationship has changed drastically in a short period of time. They embrace the challenges of learning about love and each other, dealing with grief, protecting their community from deadly predators, and sharing epic adventures while trying to find solutions to a rapidly changing environment and deteriorating world.

Above the Abyss (The Beartooth Chronicles, Book 2)

Beartooth, Wyoming has survived the first round of stratospheric aerosol injections intended to cool the planet, but predators have found their way to the community for the first time, and their closest neighbor is now ruled by an extremist faction.

Outside of Beartooth, Ash and Caleb Solomon encounter a group of geologists seeking refuge from the violence, division, hate, and corruption plaguing the nation. And, the Continuity in Crisis Bill suspending elections during times of crisis has passed, effectively ending democracy in America, pushing the country toward civil war.

Despite the many challenges within and outside their isolated, mountain community, abandoning Beartooth is no longer an option. Most of its residents believe their location above the abyss will protect them from predators, dangerous neighbors, and a country in crisis, but Ash and Caleb have seen and heard too much to ever feel safe again.

Isolated from Anarchy (The Beartooth Chronicles, Book 3)

When the sound of an incoming helicopter interrupts Ash and Caleb Solomon’s fishing, it reminds them that their mountaintop community of Beartooth may be isolated, but it’s no secret from the outside world.

Ash, Caleb, and the residents of Beartooth struggle to develop stronger defenses, a new source of electricity, and increase honey and grain production to survive the longer, colder winters resulting from the government’s geoengineering program. As the residents of Beartooth search for solutions to a growing number of threats, the rest of the world slips further into anarchy.

With few ways to protect themselves from intruders, they retreat and hide, but will it be enough to save them from their first encounter with their dangerous neighbors?

Evil Under the Mountain (The Beartooth Chronicles, Book 4)

After Beartooth’s first encounter with the Freedom and Morality Alliance turns deadly, Caleb Solomon vows to protect his family from the extremist faction that has taken control of neighboring Pryor, Wyoming. He and a small team embark on a mission to prevent the fanatics from returning. When they arrive in Pryor, Caleb’s team finds a much more disturbing place than they ever imagined.

Ashley Solomon worries about Caleb’s safety as he rides for Pryor, but she has responsibilities and can’t afford to succumb to her fears. Surviving in Beartooth is tough, and in his absence, she finds herself in a situation where she must fight for her life.

While the community holds out hope for Caleb and his team’s return, they realize that neutralizing the threat from their dangerous neighbor isn’t their only concern. Predators, natural disasters, and an environmental crisis may prove more difficult to overcome than the evil under the mountain.

I hope you will join Ash and Caleb in this epic saga of survival. Happy reading!
