NOVEMBER 2024 WRITING AND WANDERING #Newsletter

With Halloween in the review mirror, it’s time to look forward to Thanksgiving. However you choose to celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

WRITING

I just got the cover for Isolated from Anarchy (The Beartooth Chronicles, Book 3). I love the way the designer kept the common elements from the covers of the first two novels in the series, Refuge from the World (Book 1) and Above the Abyss (Book 2), but used a completely different color scheme to mix things up and added a helicopter which hints at an event that will forever change Beartooth. I think it’s pretty awesome. My publisher also indicated that the prices on the first two novels may be reduced prior to release of the third novel, so watch for that. If you haven’t started the series, you’ll be able to jump in for a very low cost. I hope you will join Ashley and Caleb as they embrace the challenges of learning about love, dealing with tragedy and grief, protecting their community from deadly predators and ruthless neighbors, and experiencing amazing adventures while trying to find solutions to a rapidly changing environment and deteriorating world. Happy reading!

WANDERINGS

We were able to take a road trip in October to the Great Lakes, and even spent a night on Mackinaw Island, something I’ve always wanted to do. We saw lots of amazing scenery including charming lighthouses and vibrant fall colors.

WHAT I’M READING

I’m currently reading Arkangel by James Rollins. I’ve read all of the novels in his Sigma Force series and, so far, it is of living up to my expectations for a great action-adventure thriller.

Next on my to-read-list is, Kristmas Project by Mary Martinez. She is a great author and friend. You can learn more about Mary at MaryMartinez.com or check out her new release at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW1BTWNG. Here’s a bit more about the novel.

Kristmas Noel Holly was born in December. Her parents hated everything about the season, so why had they named her after Christmas? Kris’s childhood memories were not filled with peace and joy, more of dread. She’s ecstatic when an invitation arrives to a prestigious conference in Germany for the first week of December. Her salvation to avoid the festivities.

Nicholas Joseph Holladay loves the season, every decorated tree, carol, and Hallmark movie. Nick’s idea of a perfect Christmas for his daughter doesn’t include a business trip. He loves his job ten months out of the year, so he’ll accompany Kris. He hopes to remedy Kris’s holiday workaholic tendencies by rekindling the special magic of the season for her. He plans to take Kris to the famous holiday markets and show her how much she misses while working.

Will his plan succeed, or will he ruin their working relationship?
