Broad-Spectrum Romance
The basic components of a romance novel are a central love story and an emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending. Romance novels can be written in a broad range of styles, be set in any place or time period, and will have levels of heat ranging from sweet to extremely hot.
In addition to pure romance novels, many books contain some
degree of romance. There is no motivator stronger than love, so relationships
are integral to nearly every story, which gives rise to many subgenres of
Romance.
As far as my books go, some are romantic suspense or adventure
romance; however, I consider most of my novels to be adventure, suspense or
thriller, with romantic elements. In Marked in Mexico, while trying to stay alive in an
unforgiving jungle Jack and Jessica forge a bond that will last a lifetime and
find love neither wanted, but were unable to avoid. Big Horn Storm is a contemporary western romantic adventure
that combines a too-close-to-home military crisis, a traumatic accident, a
terrifying bear encounter, heart-pounding horseback escapes, and an attempt by Niki
and Deuce to reconcile the past and build a future. Deadly Exodus is a
dystopian adventure in which a group of young-adults risk everything for freedom and forbidden love. Shrouded
in Secrets is an adventure thriller first, however, the hero must bring
thirteen mythical relics, reportedly capable of great destruction, together
while trying to save the woman who has captured his heart. My most recent
project is the Risky Research Series (4th novel to be released April
9, 2021). Each novel in this suspense series has an individual love story along
with a relationship that is slowly evolving over the entire series. My work is
diverse, but the one commonality is finding love.
I
occasionally host authors on this blog, most of whom write romance. I feature a
lot of Christian authors because my publisher is primarily a Christian fiction
publisher, but it does have a clean and wholesome imprint which is where my
books fall. I also host authors who fall into a more mainstream vein. One of the most recognizable names in romance is Nora
Roberts who I use as a gauge for “mainstream romance,” which may be a little
spicy for some.
Whatever
your romance preference is, there is something out there for everyone, but
always check the heat level to avoid disappointment or being offended. I hope
you enjoy my adventures and suspense stories with clean romance or whatever
book you choose across the broad-spectrum of romance.
