Happy Canada Day

Image
Happy Canada Day to our friends to the north. Canada Day is celebrated every July 1 (unless it falls on a Sunday and then it’s celebrated the next day). Canada became self-governing on July 1, 1867. Canada Day, originally known as Dominion Day, celebrates Canadian nationalism, heritage, and pride. July 1 is also Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day and International Joke Day, so there are many reasons to celebrate., even if you’re not Canadian.

Teaser Tuesday - A Double Dose of Danger

This teaser Tuesday, I’m giving everyone one a double dose of danger with A Dose of Danger , book 1 in the Risky Research series, and book 2 in the series, A Taste of Tragedy . Though not the main character in A Dose of Danger , Devyn Nash, a socially-challenged FBI agent. and her partner Nick Melonis, play a more prominent role in A Taste of Tragedy , so I thought there was no better time to introduce this dynamic duo than on teaser Tuesday. Excerpt from A Dose of Danger Neither spoke as they navigated the lane. Devyn wasn’t used to driving in so much snow, so she focused on making sure they didn’t get stuck rather than speculating on what they would see once they crested the incline. “Holy crap!” Nick gasped. Devyn could think of no more appropriate response as she took in three sheriff’s department vehicles, the burnt-out shell of what she assumed must be the white Suburban they had been tracking, another truck with an empty snowmobile trailer, an upside down snowmobil...

Romanian Author Publishes Paranormal Romance

Image
I’m pleased to introduce Carmen Stefanescu and her new paranormal romance, Till Life Do Us Part . Carmen resides in Romania, the native country of the infamous vampire Count Dracula, but where, for about 50 years of communist dictatorship, just speaking about God, faith, reincarnation or paranormal phenomena could have led someone to great trouble - the psychiatric hospital if not to prison. Teacher of English and German in her native country, and mother of two daughters, Carmen survived the grim years of oppression, by escaping in a parallel world of books. Several of her poems were successfully published in a collection of Contemporary English Poems, Muse Whispers vol.1 and Muse Whispers vol.2 by Midnight Edition Publication, in 2001 and 2002. Her first novel, Shadows of the Past , was released in 2012 by Wild Child Publishing, USA. Carmen joined the volunteer staff at Marketing For Romance Writers Author blog and is the coordinator of #Thursday13 posts. He latest nove...

Adventure Inspirations - Travel Opens Doors and Minds

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. - Innocents Abroad, Mark Twain-

Adventure Inspirations – Newer and Richer Experience

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste it, to experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” - Eleanor Roosevelt"

Teaser Tuesday - A Wee Taste of Tragedy

For your enjoyment on this Teaser Tuesday, I’ve prepared a wee Taste of Tragedy . I hope it whets your appetite for more. It you’ve got the blues, the cure may be as simple as A Dose of Danger, book #1 in the Risky Research series. By the time Nick ended the call from Agent Tanner, he was wide awake. He pulled on his blue jeans and snugged his belt around his waist. Grabbing his shirt and slipping his arms through the sleeves, he made his way to Morgan’s room. He watched her sleep for a moment, hesitant to wake her since they had only gotten to bed a little over three hours ago. She’s so beautiful and I miss her every day. Why couldn’t we make it work? he thought as he gently retrieved the photograph resting on her chest under folded arms. Turning the frame over, he knew he wasn’t the only one full of regrets. The photo was of his and Morgan’s wedding. He set the picture on the nightstand, leaned over, and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. Her eyes fluttered open. “What is it, ...

Adventure Scrapbook – Bison, Bears, and Bubbling Water

Image
I never get tired of exploring Yellowstone National Park. On the way to Mammoth through the Lamar Valley I was treated to countless bison with hundreds of young calves, deer, elk, and two black bears. The weather was beautiful, which made the day nearly perfect.

June Trivia

A few lesser known claims to June fame include its designation as aquarium month and the fight of the filthy fly month. June’s flower is the rose and its birthstones are Opal, Moonstone, and Alexandrite, which represent health and longevity. Of more prominent note are its holidays and events. June 6 – Ramadan Begins June 14 – Flag Day June 19 – Father’s Day  - don’t forget this one! June 20 – the Summer Solstice (the longest day of the year)

The mountains surrounding Sunlight Basin in northern Wyoming confirm that summer is still a ways off and spring runoff has yet to reach its peak. This is definitely my favorite time of year in this area.
